All through elementary, middle, and highschool our teachers taught us how to use Microsoft Word. So from an early age I was already familiar with how to use it and the way it works. I personally have used MS Word to type papers, take notes, and complete homework. My previous teachers used MS Word to show us their syllabus or their notes, as well as using it to show us how to type and prepare our papers.
Copywriting/plagiarizing is something that educators take very seriously. In no instance is it acceptable to plagiarize. In high school they took it very seriously and if anyone plagiarized they would earn and automatic zero as well as being punished in some other way such as out of school or in school suspension. As a teacher if I found out one of my students full on plagiarized their entire assignment or paper I would talk to them but most likely give them a zero because that is unacceptable to take the entirety of someone else's work and act as if it is your own. But, if I had a student who just had paraphrased someone else's work that would not be as bad. Also if you correctly use citations when using another source, that is acceptable. But in my best way possible I would encourage students to use their own words entirely instead of looking at someone else's but they would still be able to maybe get some ideas from others.
One issue would be cyberbullying. Cyberbullying is in no way acceptable no matter the case. A solution that I as a teacher would implement to my students would be having them watch a video on cyberbullying as well as have a police officer come in to discuss the topic. I know at my school every year we had multiple police officers come in and speak in assembly and talk about how cyberbullying can lead to so many tragedies and how it is never okay to cyberbully another person. I feel like by someone with that kind of authority speaking, it speaks volumes to the kids and they actually listen to what they have to say. Another issue I would implement is academic honesty. As a teacher I would set up an initiative for those who are honest and have a reward to promote academic honesty. Third, another issue is copywriting. I would implement to my students that it is never okay to copy someone else's work that is not your own. I would let them be very well educated about copywriting and make sure that they understand, any work turned in that is entirely or partially word for word someone else's, would result in a zero for that assignment.
