I think that computers make it so much easier for teachers to abide by the ELA technology standards because computers make our lives so much easier. Another tool that could be used is an Elmo where you would project the shared reading book so all of the students have access to the text. There are also apps that can make the standards much easier to understand. I personally am not very familiar with the ELA technology standards so it would require a lot of learning on my part.


There are many technological applications mentioned in chapter 9 that can be used as tools for learning. For example, Instagram can be used for digital storytelling, a launching point for different activities, etc. There is also Pinterest which you can use to gather information and photos of interest. Personally for my range of students which would be about ages four-six (kindergartners) those apps would most likely be difficult for them to maneuver. So, instead I would introduce early learning apps to the children to practice their reading or math skills in the form of a game.


I really loved the newsletter design project! It was really fun to do, it makes me so excited to one day be a teacher. One new skill I learned was how to hyperlink something that says "click here" and have a website that it goes to when you click on it. I personally think this was an awesome assignment because it helps prepare us for the future. I honestly didn't have anything I didn't like about this project.
